Want to start your child on the path to reading success? Washington-Centerville Public Library has a new program that will help you do just that! 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is a fun way to challenge you and your child to make a commitment to reading. Stop by our Library to pick up a reading journal to track your reading or download the free 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten app instead. Along the way, your child will receive a puzzle piece after each 100 books read. After reading all 1,000 books, your child will receive the final puzzle piece, a special certificate, and their photo in our 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Hall of Fame!
1,000 seems like a daunting number, but if you think about it in terms of how many books you’d need to read each day to finish, it becomes manageable. Reading just one book each day would take less than three years. And, by reading three books per day, you could finish in less than one year! This SMALL commitment has the potential to deliver BIG results!
