Party in the Park with Dayton Metro Library
The entire family is invited to this fun and free event! Highlights will include dancing, singing, storytelling, face painting, caricatures, sidewalk chalk art, active zones, a superhero costume contest, The Batmobile with Batman and Robin, Curious George and so much more! The event takes place both indoors and in the park – rain or shine. Admission and all activities are free. Food trucks will be on hand for the purchase of food and beverages. During the party, the Library will introduce its new mascot and sidekick for the first time. There will be prizes awarded for superhero costumes. Butterfly House at Cox Arboretum
The mission of the Butterfly House is to exhibit native butterflies in a natural environment, inspire protection of threatened habitats and educate the public on butterfly/moth life cycles and their plant partnerships. This is a living showcase of native southwest Ohio butterflies and moths. During the Butterfly House summer, visitors can get an up-close encounter with butterfly eggs, caterpillars, butterflies emerging from their chrysalises, adult butterflies and native moths. All the monarchs raised in the house are then tagged and released to make the migration to Mexico.

Dayton Parent Magazine’s 2nd Annual KIDS FEST
Come out to this free event designed for the whole family that will include inflatables, a balloon artist, face painting, characters, booths from local businesses with giveaways and a COVER KID contest. Sunwatch Flute and Art Festival
Enjoy performances by flutists from throughout the region, and sample American Indian foods including Indian tacos, corn and bison burgers. View beautifully crafted flutes and other arts and crafts from vendors on the scenic grounds.
