If there was ever a week to celebrate your love of cheese, this is it! Young’s Jersey Dairy’s 10th Annual Farmstead Cheese Week is June 3-9 and includes fun activities and discounted pricing on Young’s farmstead cheese – produced onsite from their very own Jersey cows’ milk.
We spoke with fourth-generation family member and Digital Dairy Marketer, John Young, for the inside scoop on what to expect!
Fun Across the Farm
“If you’re bringing the kids, make sure to get an Family Fun Wristband,” said John. “We only offer these a few times a year and they pay for themselves after a couple activities,” said John.
You can purchase the Family Fun Wristbands during the Cheese Anniversary week for unlimited access to miniature golf, batting cages, Cowvin’s Fast Slide, and more. Wristbands are $15 for kids 12 and older, $9 for kids 11 and younger and are good for day of purchase.
“The offer is good all week long, so if you’re looking to avoid the biggest crowds you should plan your visit on a weekday,” John added.
Special Cheese Pricing
Whether you like homemade cheddar, fresh curds or deep fried curds, you can get them all on sale during Young’s Cheese Anniversary. Deep Fried Cheddar Cheese Curds are just $3.99, and homemade cheese is buy one, get one of equal or lesser value for $3.00.
“I’m partial to the Toreador Aged Cheddar,” said John. “Take some of that home and put it on a burger and you’ll understand!” John also recommends trying the sweet basil garlic cheddar curds, and fried curds tossed in sweet chili sauce!
Young’s Farmstead Cheese Week also includes the Cheddar Challenge 5K Run/Walk across the farm, Cheese Production Facility tours and – of course – plenty of Young’s famous homemade ice cream! Don’t miss this celebration of cheese June 3-9 at Young’s Jersey Dairy!
