1. GERMANFEST PICNIC- CARILLON HISTORICAL PARK

Friday, August 12, Saturday, August, 13 and Sunday, August 14

Join the Dayton Liederkranz as we celebrate the 33rd Annual Germanfest Picnic at Carillon Park in Dayton! One of the best festivals of the summer with plenty of fun for the whole family. Friday 5-11 pm; Saturday Noon-11 pm; Sunday Noon-6 pm.

2. FARMERS MARKET- 2ND ST. PUBLIC MARKET

Friday, August 12

A local-food focused farmer’s market experience. Their local vendors literally have apples to zucchini and everything in between. Do lunch at our food court – Visit one of the delectable eateries where you will find anything from European pastries to the good ole’ sandwich. Find unique handmade items, wine, chocolates, pastries, freshly baked breads, pies & more! Bring the whole family – even out of town guests – to experience the vibrant, downtown atmosphere.

3. ENGLEWOOD ART FESTIVAL- CENTENNIAL PARK

Saturday, August 13, and Sunday, August 14

The 43rd annual Englewood Art Festival opens Saturday with the festival parade down Union Blvd. Sunday a charity cruise-in begins at 9:00 a.m. benefiting Dayton Children’s Hospital. Over 100 arts and crafts exhibitors will be selling their handmade work. Take a break from the festival and enjoy the playground with your kids, the sprinkler park, and ducks at the pond. Great food and live entertainment including on Saturday at 1:30 DeBray Music and Razzamatazz and Jazz at 5;00. Sundays musical line-up features the U.S.A.F Systems Go at 3:00.

Free admission and parking.

4. CINCINNATI PARENT KIDFEST!- CONEY ISLAND

Sunday, August 14

Our sister magazine is excited to celebrate their 30th anniversary with their very first KidsFEST!  There will be 40+ booths all with giveaways, drawings or an activity, inflatables, balloon artists, face painting, characters and our first ever COVER KID CONTEST.  They will be bringing in a professional photographer to take photos to be entered into the contest. 

The cost to attend the event is FREE but parking is $9 per car load. 

On top of all this fun, if you want to stay and enjoy Coney Island visit their booth to purchase your choice of Sunlight Pool or Amusement Park tickets for only $7.50 (that day only!)

5. ART ON THE COMMONS- LINCOLN PARK CIVIC COMMONS

Sunday, August 14

Presenting one of the Dayton area’s most popular arts festivals, back this August for its 28th year! Rosewood Arts Centre is pleased to announce Art on the Commons at Kettering’s Lincoln Park Civic Commons. Scheduled for Sunday, August 14, from 11 am until 5 pm, Art on the Commons features fine arts and crafts by over 100 talented artists from throughout the United States. Artwork for display and sale includes ceramics, digital art, fiber, glass, jewelry, metal and stone, mixed media, painting, photography, wood and works on paper creations.

Live entertainment featuring renowned local band, Puzzle of Light, and plenty of interactive art activities are scheduled throughout the day.
