Nature at Night at Cox Arboretum MetroPark

Five River MetroParks will host its annual Nature at Night program on Saturday, Nov. 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Cox Arboretum MetroPark. An awesome excuse for kids to stay up past their bedtimes, Nature at Night gives families a chance to explore the sights, sounds and experiences that make the park come to life after the sun sets.

Here are just a few reasons not to miss out on all the evening exploration fun for FREE!

GET ACTIVE: Embark on a night hike with MetroParks naturalists to learn about all of the wonderful wildlife that are more active at night. Additionally, MetroParks recreation professionals will host Try Night Fishing opportunities in ponds around the Arboretum.

EXPLORE & LEARN: Meet MetroParks’ live animal ambassadors and learn more about all the animals who live in the woods, prairies and wetlands that are more active at night. Learn about bats, spiders and owls, and then dissect an owl pellet to see what these nocturnal birds of prey eat.

TRADITIONAL TREATS: Snuggle up around a roaring fire with your family and enjoy everyone’s favorite fall treat—s’mores! Enjoy storytelling while you munch on your delicious treats!

GET CRAFTY: Attract beautiful birds to your yard by creating a birdfeeder or create your very own owl craft. Those who want to get into the holiday spirit a little early can make their own mini Christmas tree.

This free, family-friendly event will also have craft and much more! Bring flashlights if you desire. Weather Dependent. To learn more about visit
