Father’s Day Weekend Guide

There is nothing quite like a day out with dad, and with all that Dayton has to offer, it’s easy to find an outing to match any interest. Here’s some events that will make this Father’s Day one to remember.

Saturday

Celebrate Fatherhood

Stop by the Island MetroPark to celebrate and thank dads!  Activities will include speakers on fatherhood issues and programs, entertainment, music and food.

All Pro Dad Father & Kids’ Experience

It’s a Saturday morning you’ll never forget!  It starts with the thrill of stepping onto the field at Welcome Stadium in Dayton, Ohio.  Dads will spend the next few hours connecting with your kids – with plenty of fun and games plus some practical fatherhood tips.

Grand Re-Opening of Ride 1 Powersports

Join the celebration!  The newly name “Ride 1 Powersports” invites families to join them to bite into Food Vendor “Freddie’s Franks and Burgers”,  check out the cool indoors, get a chance to speed test your bike, and see their family friend, T-Ball the Clown!

Community Picnic & Vintage Baseball Game

Enjoy America’s favorite pastime this Father’s Day weekend.  There will be an era style baseball game without any modern conveniences; there will be a moderator that will explain the differences between modern baseball and baseball played in the 1800’s.  The picnic with have some old fashioned twists!

Juneteenth Festival

This year’s Juneteenth will start at 9 am with a health and fitness kick off followed by a full day of activities for all ages.  Juneteenth is celebrated in over 250 cities nationally and recognized by 40 million African Americans as their freedom and Independence Day.

Just for the Health of It

Help dad get healthy this weekend.  At the Colorado Avenue Baptist Church, there will be a Free Community Father’s/Family Day Health Fair, BBQ Picnic, and Gospel Concert.

Enon Pizza Festival

Need an excuse to incorporate pizza into this Father’s Day weekend?  Look no further.

Sunday

Breakfast with The Beatles

Or as close as you can get!  The whole family rock out to the legends and enjoy special Beatles activities.  Dad even gets a complimentary Dayton Daily News Sunday edition.

Fathers Day Meal at The Golden Jersey Inn

Take Dad out to a delicious buffet at The Golden Jersey Inn this year.  There are three different meal options: breakfast, brunch, and dinner.  All meals are sure to have some family favorites.

The first annual Father-Que {BB-Q}  will be honoring all the Fathers on their Special Day, bringing awareness to the importance of Fatherhood in today’s society. There will also be games, prizes and LOTS of raffles, including bikes for the kids, and something HUGE for The Fathers!

Father’s Day Harvest Dinner at Rue Dumaine

Let dad indulge himself on his special day.  Rue Dumaine is offering a delicious and local meal for fathers and their families.  Spoiler: the dessert is Chocolate-Peanut Butter Icebox Pie.

Dayton Air Show

Take the kids to a show they will never forget.  The spectacle will be bigger than ever, with the nation’s top attractions including the U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor Demonstration Team, U.S. Navy Leap Frogs.

Summer Solstice Lavender Festival

Soak up the sun and the sweet smell of lavender.  The festival features fabulous lavender food, honey, and products, as well as tons of kids activities.  For all the gardeners, there will be lavender workshops and demonstrations.

Celtic Fest

All of dad’s favorites will be at the Celtic Fest: food, drink, and music.
