Everything Thomas at Entertrainment Junction

I have a Thomas-obsessed three-year-old. He flocks to the train tables at the library and bookstore. He’s always playing with his Thomas trains (and bath toys) at home. He wears the same Thomas t-shirt several times a week.

Luckily, we live in a very train-friendly city: he sees Thomas regularly at the Highfield Discovery Garden; we went to A Day Out with Thomas at LM&M Railroad last summer; and we live just 20 minutes from the world’s largest indoor train display, which this month is featuring its Everything Thomas exhibit.

Everything Thomas at Entertrainment Junction is everything you could hope for – and more. Everything Thomas features extra Thomas train layouts, Thomas videos, Thomas scavenger hunts and Thomas crafts highlighting everyone’s favorite cheeky little blue train. It’s a must for any Thomas-obsessed kid.

My kids’ favorite part about Everything Thomas was finding Thomas and his friends hiding within the regular displays. Percy, James, Harold and Emily — they were all there! It was fun hunting for Thomas and his crew – Julian called it a Thomas scavenger hunt.

Of course, Entertrainment Junction is always a hit for railroad enthusiasts young and old: it’s 25,000 square feet of model trains (that’s half a football field!), and includes over 2 miles of track, 90 G-scale locomotives and 1,000 cars. There’s also a kids’ play area, railroad museum, Expo Center and approximately 1,346 train tables.

I’ll admit I’m not the biggest fan of Thomas myself (those googly eyes are just a little creepy), but I really enjoy Entertrainment Junction. I love all the little details in the displays, especially Coney Island. Located on the second floor, this display features real working rides such as the Shooting Star roller coaster, Lost River, Ferris Wheel, Flying Rockets, Sky Ride, Lake Como train ride and Carousel. It’s a perfect replica of the real thing!

Entertrainment Junction is interactive, educational and loads of fun for kids – and parents. If you have a Thomas fan in the house, plan a trip to this museum this February. You’ll earn major parent points, and definitely have fun geeking out at this Butler County attraction!
