Has it been a while since your family has paid a visit to Boonshoft Museum of Discovery? Our family purchased an annual membership to Boonshoft this year and we do NOT regret it! It seems like every time we visit we are discovering a new favorite exhibit.
Do you have a child that is interested in all things that “HISSSS”? On our most recent trip, we discovered the new, Red-Tailed Boa exhibit! Our slithery friend was all coiled up when we were there but it would truly be amazing to see him all stretched out on our next visit!
We also LOVE the Discovery Zoo! You can see a sloth, a variety of tropical fish, bird
s, reptiles and our favorite – the otters! If your family has an animal lover and you don’t want to make the long trek to a local zoo, the Discovery Zoo at Boonshoft is a GREAT alternative! Be sure to catch the daily Keeper Talk program on the Discovery Stage outside the main zoo entrance. This area is home to live animal interactions hosted each afternoon with a zookeeper who will introduce guests to a member of the zoo crew and answer questions. The Strictly Briks exhibit opened
last summer on the second floor of the museum! This space features slightly oversized “briks” in an expanded assortment of colors, shapes, and materials to challenge the imagination. Explorers of all ages will build their engineering skill-sets as they try to complete suggested build challenges – or simply create constructions of their own design! Our daughter was having a blast in this area and there were PLENTY of briks for all of the children in that area to build their own customized creations!
