The Memphis Belle Exhibit Opening Celebration & Family Day

Location: National Museum of the U.S. Air Force
Date: May 17- 19

The aircraft will be placed on permanent public display in the WWII Gallery of the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force on May 17, 2018. The new exhibit surrounding the Memphis BelleTM will include interactive displays, rare archival film footage and many personal artifacts which have never been seen before by our visitor.

Bring your tab collection to the Tab-A-PULL-ooza pull tab contest! This family-friendly event is a great way to show children the benefits of both recycling and giving back to the community. Donations will be weighed and then poured into a large commercial dumpster provided by First Street Recycling; allowing attendees to see firsthand the remarkable things that can happen when a community “pulls” together.

Twinleaf Wildflower Trek

Location: Morris Reserve

Discover a rare wildflower that only blooms two days a year at our newly opened nature park! The beautiful hillsides in this park are full of spring ephemerals that will delight you with their fragrance and eye catching colors! Wildflower bingo will be included for even more fun on the trails! Wear sturdy shoes for new rugged trails and hillside hiking. Pre-registration 2 days prior is required until minimum is met, once minimum is met walk ups are welcome. Free.

ARTventures– Blossoming Flowers

The Boonshoft Museum of Discovery’s NEW Sensory Sunday program offers extended hours for local families who could benefit from a less stimulating atmosphere. During these special hours, the Museum will adjust lighting and sound, have trained volunteers and additional staff, and offer programs to appeal to families with children on the autism spectrum.

Go, Dog, Go! Sensory- Friendly

Location: Victoria Theatre

This production is specifically designed for children with an autism spectrum disorder, other sensory processing diagnoses, and other special needs. You can expect a reduction of loud or jarring sounds, the absence of flashing or strobe lighting on stage, modification of house lights during the performance, and a judgement-free environment where all patrons can feel free to vocalize or move around the theatre if they need to.

Feathers & Fur Free KidX Event

Join us as Mr. Cowpie brings his Party Animals in from the barnyard for a truly interactive animal experience! Downtown Xenia First Friday

Troy Strawberry Festival

Location: Downtown Troy
Date: Saturday, June 3 & Sunday, June 4, 10:00 am- 8:00 pm (6:00 pm on Sunday)

Two full days of events follow beginning with Open Ceremonies on Prouty Plaza. From there the main action continues on the Historic Streets of Downtown Troy and along the Great Miami River Levee! Browse over 200 high-quality art and craft booths. If you can make it with strawberries, you will find it at the Troy Strawberry Festival, more than 60 food booths offer everything from strawberry salsa, chocolate covered strawberries, strawberry bbq sauce, and of course the famous strawberry donuts! Great family entertainment, two stages of free entertainment, free shuttle service and free admissions.

Touch a Truck

Location: Kettering Middle School, 3000 Glengarry Drive, Kettering

Get up close and personal with some of your favorite “big rigs”. Truck lovers young and old will have fun interacting with a wide variety of trucks, construction vehicles, public safety vehicles and more! Be sure to bring your cameras. Iditarod: The Last Great Race

Location: Centerville Library- Cynthia Klinck Community Room

Learn about the history of Alaska’s annual race! Karen Land, a 3-time Iditarod participant from Indiana, will discuss her involvement with sled dog racing and participation in the 1,100 mile Iditarod Sled Dog Race across Alaska. She’ll bring her sled dog Noggin with her along with gear, arctic clothi, g and other items. No registration is necessary but seating is limited. For All Ages. Fee

Fishing Derby

Location: Deer Meadow Park, 4321, Pinnacle Road, Moraine

Veggie-Palooza

Learn how to eat all your summertime veggies, especially plentiful things like kale and zucchini! Watch demonstrations and taste new veggie dishes. Build your own summer-fresh pizza with Wheat Penny’s baker and collect and eat it after the bake! Co-hosted with United Way’s Volunteer Connections. Art on the Commons

Location: Lincoln Park Civic Commons

Recognized by Sunshine Artist Magazine as one of the top U.S. festivals, Art on the Commons is a juried display and sale of fine arts and crafts featuring over one hundred artists from Ohio and surrounding states. Live entertainment and plenty of interactive art activities are scheduled throughout the day. Admission is free and open to the public!

Centerville Summer Concert Series

Location: Stubbs Park
Date: Sunday, August 13, 7:00 pm

The 2017 Summer Concert Series, presented by the Centerville Arts Commission, kicks off June 4 at the Stubbs Park Amphitheater, 255 W. Spring Valley Road. Concerts begin at 7 p.m., except where otherwise noted. The amphitheater offers lawn seating only; you are invited to bring chairs and/or blankets for your seating comfort. No alcohol is allowed.
Concessions are provided by Centerville Pizza & BBQ and are available starting at 6:00 p.m. for your enjoyment.
