One of the prerequisites for anyone wishing to work as a real estate professional in the state is to attend a real estate school in Indiana. Although the courses offered by real estate schools in Indiana vary, there are a few things an individual can do to expedite their education regardless of the particular course. Among other advantages, this promotes a competitive edge, financial gains, and a speedy entry into the market. We will go into some practical advice on how to expedite real estate classes in Indiana for all prospective professionals in this article.

Tips for Fast-Tracking Real Estate Classes in Indiana

For any aspiring professional, here are actionable recommendations on how to fast-track real estate classes in Indiana.

Choosing the Right Education Provider

In order to expedite real estate classes, choosing one of the best real estate schools in Indianapolis is essential since it has a direct impact on the effectiveness, quality, and pace of your education. Make sure the provider is reputable and accredited by the appropriate state regulatory agency because of this.

Take into account the real estate school’s curriculum and course structure as well. Anexcellent curriculum will help you quickly understand key concepts by covering all required subjects in depth and effectively. Furthermore, a quality provider will offer a well-structured course that speeds up learning without compromising comprehension or depth.

The school’s flexibility in terms of learning options is a critical factor to consider. Only choose a provider that allows for self-paced learning and online real estate classes in Indiana since these two qualities can help you to accelerate your classes.

Creating a Realistic Study Plan

Fast-tracking real estate coursework requires a realistic study strategy because it facilitates several processes. These include implementing a systematic learning and study approach, efficient time management, consistency and routine, flexibility and adaptability, progress tracking, motivation and accountability, stress reduction, and successful exam preparation.

Establishing a specific goal is the first stage in creating a realistic study schedule. This entails specifying your aim and breaking down your objectives. These two are absolutely necessary. After that, comprehend what is involved for the course. This includes being aware of your curriculum, setting up study time, and estimating it.

Make sure you balance other obligations and have a daily and weekly timetable when allocating. Setting realistic study sessions, prioritizing activities, adopting efficient study strategies, being adaptable, and monitoring progress are all crucial components of a realistic study plan.

Leveraging Online Resources When Taking Real Estate Classes in Indiana

One of the biggest drawbacks of having a creative mind is my Adult ADD.

Mine was acting up big time as I watched the family in front of me in church.

I tried focusing on the readings and prayers but my eyes kept drifting to the couple in front of me and

their baby girl.

The baby was tiny, as many babies are and she had a big bow wrapped around her head.

I thought of the many times my wife put a bow around our daughter Marissa’s head in the first few

months of her life. It made sense that we put a bow on our daughter because she was the best gift

either of us ever received. I saw that the young mother in front of us thought the same of her

baby girl.

Like me, She wasn’t focused on the readings, her sole focus was on her adorable newborn girl.

One of the best things you’ll ever see in life is seeing a new mother look lovingly at their child.

Seeing this in church reminded me of my wife Angela doing the same thing years ago.

I loved how she looked down lovingly at our daughter when she used to rock her to sleep or when she

would hold her closely on so many other occasions.

Next I saw the father of the baby reach his hand down toward his daughter. The baby girl wrapped her

tiny hand around his much bigger finger and the memories came flooding back to twenty plus years

ago. I recalled that magical feeling I felt the first time my little girl wrapped her tiny little fingers

around mine. My heart was filled the kind of love you really can’t match in life.

Ironically, Marissa still has me wrapped around her finger and she still brings me plenty of pride and joy.

The couple scooted closer to each other and took turns holding the baby. The husband rubbed his

wife’s back. It didn’t take a genius (thank goodness for me) to figure out this was a happy young

family.

As I watched them I thought to myself that was us twenty three years ago.

I recalled walking into church with pride, as I stood by my beautiful young wife and equally

beautiful baby girl. I remembered thinking “ gosh I’m the luckiest guy on earth.”

Part of me was sad for a minute or two and I wished for that time in my life again. Then I

reminded myself that I was still darn lucky to be at church with the two people I love the

most in this world.

I glanced down and noticed the newborn in front of me was fast asleep and I recalled my daughter

sleeping contently in her baptismal gown, I remembered her walking down to her first communion

in a white laced dress. I recalled her being grown up, gorgeous and confident at her confirmation.

I remembered the satin dresses at Christmas time and her bright colorful dresses at Easter.

I wanted to find the rewind button on life and go back to those days.

As mass ended, I thought of leaning over to the couple in front of me and telling them to enjoy all the

times they would have with their daughter, because those times will zoom by at an unfair speed.

Then I decided it was much better for me to just let them enjoy the moment.

The simplest moments with your family become life’s greatest memories and I didn’t want to ruin theirs.

A fan favorite, the night balloon glow is a magical display that families look forward to every year. This year’s balloon glows will be July 19th and 20th at dusk.

Tethered BallonRIdes

What better experience than climbing into a balloon and soaring up to get a birds eye view of the city without the expense. Well look no further. The Ohio challenge will have multiple balloons giving tethered balloon rides. Rides will cost $20/ adult & $15/child and multiple people can go up together. A tethered balloon is a hot air balloon that lifts off into the sky but does not travel any horizontal distance and then travels safely back down to earth.

The “summer slide” refers to what can happen to kids’ brains when they are idle during the summer months. Experts from the National Summer Learning Association estimate that the equivalent of about two month’s instruction time can be lost if children don’t keep their brains active during that break from school. Reading is a great way to keep the brain active and combat the summer slide. To help, we have some fun things planned at the Washington-Centerville Public Library to get kids excited to read this summer!

We’re kicking off our annual Summer Reading Club today, and it will run until July 31. If you’re not familiar with how our club works, it’s really easy and REALLY FUN! Registration can be done in person at the Woodbourne Library, Centerville Library, or online. Kids entering preschool – 5th grade can join our children’s club, where they get a “gamecard” to track their reading (by hours or by number of books read—it’s their choice). Along the way, there are prizes to win, and each child who completes the children’s club will earn a book! For babies and toddlers, we have gamecards that are filled with fun early literacy activities for you and your little one to do together, and each baby or toddler to finish the club earns a board book to keep!

During the summer, we also have tons of great programs for the whole family to enjoy. Some of these programs include: Happy Birthday, Very Hungry Caterpillar!, Fun with Mike Hemmelgarn, Family Mission to the Moon, Curiosity Dome, and Wild About Wildlife! Check out all of our programs here.

In addition, starting June 3, each week we’ll have a different theme for our craft centers located in the children’s room at the Centerville and Woodbourne Libraries. You and your kids can stop by anytime we’re open to make cool crafts and color our coloring sheets.

Finally, check out our new summer storytime schedule here. Registration is not necessary for any summer storytimes. Feel free to come whenever you can!

We’re looking forward to seeing lots of excited readers at the library this summer!

Trains were invented to transport things and a couple of weekends ago a number of trains transported my wife and I back in time. The trains were part of the miniature train sets that are displayed at Union Station in Kansas City each December.

The train sets were fabulous and they took my wife and I back to our childhoods. We each gazed in wonder at the displays. They included tiny villages, mini mountain ranges, amusement parks and much, much more. For as far as the eye could see there were train sets of every type and variety. When I saw them I recalled the thrill of receiving my first train set and my wife had fond memories of the spectacular train set and village her Dad had built for her brother and her!

Children surrounded us and they gazed at the trains, the décor and the sheer magnitude of the displays. Besides the trains, we saw giant Christmas trees, colorful nutcracker soldiers and festive Christmas decorations. At one point I glanced over at my wife and could see she was enjoying the displays as much as I was. I dodged a few kids that were racing back and forth to see as much as they could and then realized I was doing the same thing.

I noticed a young boy putting a letter in a giant red mailbox that said “Letters for Santa”. He folded the letter with care and made certain it went in the mailbox correctly…you can never be too careful when it comes to corresponding with Santa. I heard little girls singing Christmas songs that were playing over the loud speakers. I hummed along, if I had sang it would have ruined the moment for everyone.

In the center of the hall, kids were riding a small train that carried them around the grand decorations. They all smiled from ear to ear. For a minute or two I envied them and wished I could be a kid again, then I realized that at that moment I was! During that time, I was experiencing one of the best parts of Christmas. I was taking part in the anticipation of the big day. I was feeling nothing but warmth and joy! More memories of my childhood came flooding back when I saw brightly colored gift boxes and giant stuffed animals under a huge tree. The entire scene was mesmerizing to me and it made me forget all the hustle and bustle us adults get too caught up in during the holidays.

In a grand old train station in the middle of America my wife and I received an early holiday surprise. For a few hours, we forgot about our worries, our responsibilities and we were young again. As I walked past another gleaming tree on my way out of Union Station it occurred to me: if a couple of middle aged adults can become wide eyed kids again, then how can one doubt the Magic of Christmas?!

While many children enjoy Halloween traditions of trick-or-treating, pumpkin carving, and interaction with costume-clad “ghouls and goblins,” children affected by a sensory processing disorder may interpret and react differently to these holiday activities.

“Children with sensory processing challenges may become overwhelmed with the wide array of sounds, sights and textures at Halloween time,” says Sandra Schefkind, MS, OTR/L, Pediatric Program Manager at the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). “With careful planning and consideration of the child’s unique needs and strengths, families can determine which Halloween traditions are best for the child. Occupational therapy practitioners can recommend activities or environmental modifications so that Halloween is a day of fun — not dread — for children and their families.”

The American Occupational Therapy Association offers the following tips for caregivers to make Halloween a positive experience for children with sensory challenges and offer fun alternatives to increase participation in the activities:

1. Prepare for the day.

Halloween traditions often clash with established rules, like taking candy from strangers. To help children understand what Halloween is—and is not—read stories that reflect your values ahead of time. Unpredictable events like the unexpected “boo” or changes in routine like new foods or places can be challenging for some children. Reviewing and rehearsing the activities through stories, songs, and pictures will help your child anticipate activities more favorably.

2. Make costumes safe, comfortable, and imaginative.

Before shopping, parents should share costume guidelines with their children to prevent in-store meltdowns. Children should wear costumes in advance to test their comfort level when walking, reaching, and sitting. Costumes that are too long or loose pose safety concerns like causing tripping or catching fire. Masks are not recommended since they inhibit breathing and vision. Beware of costumes with exposed tags or elastic parts. Consider whether your child will feel too warm or cold in character. Will your child be willing to wear a coat over his costume? Make-up may also feel slimy, and its smell may be off putting. Will your child think the fabric is too scratchy, tight, slippery, or stiff? A child with sensory processing challenges may appreciate the “less is more” approach. For example, a short cape may suffice a superhero costume or a green shirt could indicate a turtle or frog.

3. Trick-or-Treating can be pleasant, up to a point.

Practice the sequence of walking to the door, saying “trick or treat,” putting the treat in the bag and offering “thank you” at homes of familiar neighbors. Children may benefit from starting early and avoiding the dark. Consider trick-or-treating on quiet streets or only at homes of family and friends to keep the comfort level high. Skip homes with flashing lights, loud noises, and especially scary decorations. Review and rehearse street crossing. Eating candy while trick-or-treating can pose a choking hazard or trigger allergies. Determine the ground rules on indulging before leaving home.

4. Cater to your child’s preferences throughout the day.

Some children will seek opportunities to touch “eyeballs” and pumpkin innards because they enjoy touching wet or squishy textures. Other children will prefer to keep their hands dry by decorating jack-o-lanterns with stickers and markers rather than carving. Devise strategies ahead of time by inquiring what party activities will be offered. For example, a child who may not like bobbing for apples could participate by putting the apples in the bucket. Consider planning an event with a few friends, and save large parties for the future.

5. There’s no place like home.

Know when to stop the festivities. Look for signs of sensory overload in your child—fatigue, hyper-excitability, crying, and combativeness. Often, children like handing out the candy just as much as receiving it.

Founded in 1917, the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) represents the professional interests and concerns of more than 213,000 occupational therapists, assistants, and students nationwide. The Association educates the public and advances the profession of occupational therapy by providing resources, setting standards including accreditations, and serving as an advocate to improve health care. Based in Bethesda, Md., AOTA’s major programs and activities are directed toward promoting the professional development of its members and assuring consumer access to quality services so patients can maximize their individual potential.
If your kids love to explore, and I don’t know a kid doesn’t, you’ve got to check out the Wegerzyn Garden at MetroPark in Dayton. Bring the swimsuits and pack a picnic. I can’t think of a more appropriate name for this natural playground set right in the beautifully landscaped MetroPark. All ages will have fun discovering the surprises at every turn.

I could hardly keep up with my 4-year-old and 2-year-old daughters one morning while they explored the garden. Luckily for my infant son (and me!), a paved path makes the park is very stroller-friendly. Don’t forget to look down to see the leaves and animal tracks etched into the pavement.

Along the path, the girls discovered a foliage covered tunnel that led to a secret meeting place for kids. They found an old canoe nestled amongst the flowers. Several trees had long, drooping branches that created shady hiding spots. We found a small pond, an old water pump and big digging hole.

There must be a pirate theme going on this year because we saw some funny flamingoes in different costumes hiding among the plants. And we even ran into a pirate ship! (After we got home, I found more info about this online. Check it out before you go, so you don’t miss these activities.)

My girls got lost in the music maze that twisted through hedges and tall red flowers. They found a big xylophone to bang on and a noisy wheel to turn. Large sand tables at varying heights dominate one area of the garden that is mercifully covered by big shade structures. I took a break in one of the chairs provided to feed the baby while the girls made castles with the sand toys provided. I let them get as sandy as they wanted without worrying about the clean-up because one of the best parts of the Discovery Garden is the water feature.

Cool water runs over a man-made cove and through a winding stream, just begging to be stepped in and explored. It was almost 90 degrees the day we went, so even the baby got to splash around. At just a few inches deep with a gentle current, the stream is great for little ones to dip their toes in. Older kids will enjoy ducking under the waterfalls, and all ages can explore the fossil cave where the water ends.

Next time I’m bringing water shoes for the kids since the bottom of the stream is a little rough and rocky. Sunscreen and bug spray are good things to throw in your bag too. A permanent restroom makes getting in and out of swimsuits a breeze.

In the middle of the garden is a big pond. It’s not for swimming, but the girls took a breather on some adorable kid-sized rocking chairs and looked for fish in the water. There also is a sensory garden with different plants to touch and smell. Most of the plants and flowers are well labeled if you’re interested in learning more.

We sat at tables just outside the children’s area for a picnic lunch. There are several beautiful areas to walk through, and we spotted a family having pictures taken. I’m saving that idea for later.

Throughout the summer, Wegerzyn Gardens (website) is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The water feature is open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Labor Day. Admission is free. Activities including story time are offered at various times. Go online at https://www.metroparks.org/discovery-garden/ for more information.

We’re kicking off our annual Summer Reading Club today and will run until July 28. If you’re not familiar with how our club works, it’s really easy and REALLY FUN! Registration can be done in person at the Centerville Library or online.

Some of these programs include: Stories in Motion with Dayton Ballet II, W.A.T.E.R. Safety with Goldfish Swim School, Fun with Mike Hemmelgarn, and Outdoor Survival Skills with the Centerville-Washington Park District! Check out all of our programs here.

In addition, each week we’ll have a different theme for our craft centers located in the children’s room at the Centerville Library.

Sometimes with little ones, it isn’t very easy to travel so Dayton Parent Magazine put together a great list of places that are road trip worthy of your time and effort. Did you know that there is a beach in Indiana? And did you know that you can feel the world away within just a couple hours? These road trips are sometimes just what the family needs to get a break, unwind and make memories.

Get the family in the car to start making some fun memories without breaking the bank on gas money. All of these Family Friendly Road Trips from Dayton are within 5 hours of home. Happy Road Tripping!

Indiana Beach- Monticello, IN

Indiana Beach is located in Monticello, Indiana on Lake Shafer. This peninsula and resort was founded in 1926. The resort features a Boardwalk Funway, six roller coasters, 41 rides, the Shafer Queen Paddlewheel boat, two campgrounds, rental accommodations, and an on-property hotel. Ideal Beach, the water park, includes the original swimming pool with sand beach, water slides, an action river, and kid’s spray area. You can also rent jet skis, boat, and golf around the area. And don’t forget the board walk style food including elephant ears and taffy. Indiana Beach is good old fashioned fun and only about 3 hours from Dayton.

Mammoth Cave, KY

Mammoth Cave in Kentucky is the world’s longest known cave system, with more then 400 miles explored, and one of the oldest tour attractions in North America. While cave tours of the 10 miles in the cave are the park’s big attraction, there is plenty to do and explore while visiting this beautiful wilderness area, such as hiking, camping, horseback riding, fishing and kayaking. This road trip is about 4 hours from Dayton. “The Trog Tour is only open to kids ages 8-12, and it alone is reason enough to make the trip to Mammoth Cave! Kids don caving jumpsuits with knee pads, bandanas, helmets, and headlamps and head out for a two hour adventure led by guides. Once inside the cave, the kids head “off trail” for a true caving adventure! They get to squeeze through narrow passageways and army-crawl through low tunnels- all by the light of their headlamps. They can try to climb the cave walls and scramble over boulders, and basically get a sense of what real cave exploring is like.” Sharon Rowley, mom blogger.

Sandusky, OH

Are you a thrill seeking family? Stay at the Kalahari Waterpark hotel and your children won’t want to leave but so make sure you plan at least a full day or two so they can just relax and play in the amazing indoor wave pool and lazy rivers. Once they dry off they will want to enjoy the zip line, glow mini golf, movie theatre, and climbing wall. If you are finally able to talk them into venturing out- visit Cedar Point Amusement Park. Known as the roller coaster capital of the world, this park has something for everyone. With 17 world-class roller coasters to three areas filled with rides for kids and families, Cedar Point will keep your family busy making memories. When you are looking to chill out then visit Cedar Point Beach. You can rent a wave runner, fly high above on a parasail or relax making sand castles. Sandusky is just a little over 3 hours from Dayton.

Hocking Hills, OH

Does your family love adventure? The Hocking Hills region of Southeastern Ohio offers great getaways with plenty of adventurous things to do. Take a leisurely train ride through the Hocking Hills in a historic train called the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway. Watch the epic outdoor historical drama, TECUMSEH. This is educational as well as moving for all ages. Play mini golf, laser tag, ride ATVs and of course hike. Some of the more popular hiking trails include Old Man Cave, Cantwell Cliffs, Conkle’s Hollow and Cedar Falls which boasts a beautiful waterfall. Stay in a beautiful log cabin and let the family soak in the hot tub or build a fire to roast marsh mellows. Hocking Hills comes in just under 2 hours from Dayton.
