At The Dayton Regional STEM School, innovators are created. We serve students in grades 6-12 from across the region. As we approach our 10birthday, we invite your family to discover how we foster student and school-wide success through Project Based Learning, career exploration, the five STEM qualities, and more!
The Dayton Regional STEM School has consistently been at the top of Dayton’s Best Performing Schools list in recent years.
The Class of 2017 impressed with a 100% graduation rate and 80% of students went on to pursue STEM majors in higher education. We were also named as an honoree for “Best Non-Profit” at the 2017 Dayton Business Journal’s Business of the Year Awards. It’s official… our community loves The STEM School!
One of the many things that set STEM apart from other schools is Project Based Learning, the teaching method in which students learn by doing. This forward-thinking and student-centered approach is used in all grade levels and across the curriculum, increasing understanding and engagement. PBL, partnered with our focus in the science, technology, engineering and math fields, creates a vibrant learning environment for young minds to be inspired, create and discover.
At STEM, we are committed to providing our students with the skills necessary to thrive after graduation. College readiness and career exploration are important and robust programs at The Dayton Regional STEM School. Each student partakes in a variety of different opportunities to help them navigate their post-secondary path, including job shadowing, internships, and the annual College and Career Fair. Our IT and Engineering Pathways allow students to deep dive into prospective fields and even earn credentials before graduating. Our extensive list of industry partners provides easy access and networking opportunities for students with virtually any interests.
From their very first year at The Dayton Regional STEM School, students become part of a unique school-wide culture. As they build important STEM competencies, they are also building confidence in themselves and their abilities in these fields, using knowledge as power. Twenty-first century skills are developed in the form of our Five STEM Qualities: inquiry, creativity, collaboration, persistence, and communication. At the end of their time at STEM, our students are ready to succeed in the real world.
